Zentila Takes Home the Prize(s) at the Inaugural VenturePitch Orlando Conference

Orlando Startup Wins the Judges’ and Audience Awards

ORLANDO, FL–June 14, 2012 – Zentila, the online booking engine for meetings and conventions, was awarded both the Judges’ and Audience Awards on Tuesday, May 22, at the inaugural VenturePitch Orlando event. Hosted by Florida Venture Sourcing, an online resource connecting Florida’s technology venture community, VenturePitch Orlando showcased six promising early-stage companies who were selected to pitch their business plans to the event’s technology investor judges from nearly 40 applying companies.

“We are humbled that in the midst of such esteemed company of proven innovators, we were able to wow the audience as well as the judges, and bring home both prizes at VenturePitch Orlando,” said Mike Mason, Zentila’s founder and Z.E.O. “The audience was impressive, and the investor attendance is something we have not seen at events like this in the past, especially in this area.”

Richard Licursi presented Mike Mason with the Judges’ Award – a trophy and an opportunity to pitch to three angel and venture capital funds: Arsenal Venture Partners, IDEA Fund Partners, and the Tamiami Angel Fund. The Audience Award, earning Zentila pro bono services from the accounting firm of Cross, Fernandez, and Riley (CFR), was presented to Mason by Jennifer Johnson of CFR.

“What’s great,” added Mason, “is that these awards go beyond recognition to provide real opportunities and professional services that are always appreciated – and needed – by startups. We’ve had second meetings with two investor groups, with more in the upcoming weeks.”

The event was attended by a sold-out crowd of more than 150 members of the Central Florida technology venture community, including investors, founders, and service providers.
